Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std. AND

Obtained a positive Composite score i.e., marks obtained after adding 50% of JEE (Main) 2014 (Paper 1) marks and 50% of normalized Standard XII (Board or Equivalent Examination) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  1. If the nationality (Indian) of a student is not mentioned in the Leaving / Transfer Certificate, a separate Nationality Certificate should be submitted.
  2. It is mandatory for all students admitted to I Year and Direct II Year to fill the University Registration form (Enrolment form) and submit it at the Admission Cell, after completing the admission formalities.
  3. Provisional Statement of eligibility from University of Mumbai is required for all students except for the Maharashtra Board students.

  1. Candidate should be an Indian National and who possess Bachelors Degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering / Technology from an AICTE / MHRD approved institution, with at least 50 % Aggregate marks (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) OR appeared for the final year examination of Bachelors Degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering / Technology.
  2. Having valid GATE Score in respective qualifying branch

  1. Submission of Certificates – All the candidates belonging to reserved category should submit their Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate and Non Creamy layer Certificate as applicable and all Type A students should submit Domicile Certificate / Birth Certificate / School Leaving Certificate with place of birth in Maharashtra to the institute at the time of admission to B.E. and M.E. courses as per directives issued from joint Director of Technical Education, Regional Office, Mumbai vide letter dt. 14/5/2013 in pursuant to Government Resolution no. Sankirn -2011/prakra.325/Tanshi-4 dt. 25/6/2012 and Directorate of Technical Education circular 2A/ATM/2013/Pramanapatru/143 dt. 13/5/2013.
  2. Attendance – As per the University Regulations a Student has to attend 75% of the Total Numbers of Classes conducted in Theory, Practicals and Tutorials separately, to become eligible to appear for the University Examinations. However, for genuine reasons the University may condone the shortage in case of the Students securing attendance not less than 50%. In case the attendance is less than 50% for whatever reasons and however genuine it is (like falling Sick, etc.) the student looses ONE Year. For attendance less than 50%, the case will be sent to the academic council of the University of Mumbai.
  3. Class Marks – Class Marks are awarded to a student based on his / her performance in Two Tests-Conducted during the semester. The maximum class marks for each of the Theory Subject is 25. Class Marks are more crucial because they are added to the marks scored by the student in the University Examinations in each of the individual Subjects. To Pass in a subject, a student has to score a minimum of 40% in Examinations, separately for each passing heads.
  4. Sessional Marks – Each of the Practical Subjects generally carries 25 / 50 sessional marks. These marks are awarded based on the regularity of the Student to the Practical / Tutorials / Classes and also on his / her performance in the Test conducted in the Practical / Tutorial subject, at the end of the semester. It is the University statute that the Student having not less than 40% sessional marks in each of the Practical / Tutorial subjects will not be eligible to appear for the University examinations.
  5. Criteria for Eligibility to Higher Classes – An Academic year consists of Odd and Even Semesters of that academic year. A student is eligible for the promotion to the next academic year (Starting with an Odd semester) provided the Student has not failed in more than 5 subjects of the Two Semesters, of the just previous academic year and has completed all the Examinations lower to the previous academic year.
    As an example : A student seeking eligibility to 5th Semester should have passed all the Subjects upto 2nd Semester and should not have failed in more than 5 Subjects of 3rd and 4th Semester put together.
